Terms of Service

• We will paint two oil-portrait variants from the photograph you upload, in the style you choose, within about two minutes of payment.
• You see both variants in your editor and choose one. We do not print anything until you approve.
• The approved variant is upscaled to 300 DPI and printed on a 1.5″ gallery-wrap canvas by our US print partner (CustomCat, Detroit, MI).
• Canvas ships within 5–7 business days across the contiguous United States.

• You own the right to the photograph you upload. The subject is you, or someone who has given you permission to use their likeness. You are not uploading copyrighted celebrity photos, photographs taken by photographers who haven't licensed the image to you, or images of children without their guardian's consent.
• You will not upload content that is illegal, hateful, sexual, violent, or otherwise designed to harm.
• You will only use the painted portrait for personal, non-commercial purposes. Commercial licensing is available separately — email us.

If you don't love the portrait we ship, email hello@portretti.com within 14 days of delivery and we'll refund the full order. You do not need to return the canvas — keep it or hang it in a closet, whichever feels right.

Refunds are processed by Stripe back to the original card within 5–10 business days.

Each order includes one free revision. If the painting on your approval screen doesn't feel right, press “Create again” and we'll generate two new variants from the same source photograph. After that, additional generations consume the AI budget already included with your order (about $10).

Your portrait is generated by AI image models (currently OpenAI's GPT Image 2, via fal.ai), then upscaled by Claid.ai. Identity preservation is built into every prompt — your face stays your face. The painterly brushwork is the model's interpretation; no two outputs from the same photo will be identical.

We do not allow our AI providers to retain or train on your photographs. See the privacy policy for the full processor list.

We ship to the contiguous United States only at launch. Shipping is included in the listed price; no surprise fees at checkout.

Larger canvases (24″×36″) ship UPS Ground and cannot be delivered to PO Boxes.

Portretti is liable for the cost of your order — nothing more. We are not responsible for incidental, indirect, or consequential damages. If we get your order wrong, the fix is refund or re-print.

We may update these terms occasionally. The version that applies to your order is the version live at the time you placed it. Material changes are announced by email if you have an account.
